As an integral part of the Living Legends of Aviation Europe, the Science Lounge @ scalaria has been expanding the program with an interdisciplinary future dialogue since 2019.
In four formats to date, the Science Lounge has established itself as a catalyst that deliberately blurs the lines between Aviation, Aerospace, Automotive, and new technologies.
What began with discussions around alternative propulsion systems like hydrogen and blended wing body concepts evolved through topics such as drone technology, lightweight construction, and cross-industry innovation to global perspectives like the “Mission to Mars”.
‍Moderated by Annabelle Mandeng and accompanied by experts such as Dr. Gernot Grömer (Terra Mater | ServusTV) , a format emerged that connects science and industry on an equal footing.
In 2026, the Science Lounge will focus on Aerospace & Space Travel as a driver of future technologies.
In the dynamic field between the innovation philosophies of NASA | SpaceX and the new European space generation (European NEXT | ESA, RFA, Isar Aerospace), as well as new propulsion systems for everyday aviation, developments will be discussed that extend far beyond the industry – and will shape our daily lives in the long term.
With international players from Aviation, Space, Mobility, and High-Tech, the Science Lounge will once again become the focal point for visionary ideas, strategic exchange, and concrete solutions.
The “Living Legends of Aviation” are extraordinary individuals with outstanding achievements in aviation – including entrepreneurs, innovators, industry leaders, astronauts, record holders, pilots who became celebrities, and celebrities who learned to fly themselves.  See more about the members and honorees.
