living legends of aviation europe innovation talk
As a kick-off to the topic, four case studies were presented by top industry representatives.
Diamond Aircraft Head of Design Robert Kremnitzer with the eDA-40, the first all-electric, production-ready aircraft.
Apus Group CEO Philip Scheffel, who aims to bring 'zero-emission aircraft' to market from 2030 through the use of hydrogen.
Mark Robert Henning, CEO of Autoflight Europe, which aims to move intra- and inner-city transport into the air with electric-powered vertical take-off vehicles called Prosperity 1. And H2X Global CEO Brendan Norman, whose company is developing 100% sustainable and zero-emission cabs and delivery vans powered by hydrogen fuel cells.
During the subsequent panel talk, Dr. Bernd Mlekusch, Vice President of Exterior Devision at Audi, Jochen Werner,
Vice President AIRBUS Industry Design, Robert Dewar, Senior Vice President AIRBUS Canada & Head Engineer A220,
Dr. Robert Irlinger, Head of Development New Cluster Architecture ('New Class') at BMW and Stefan von Czarnecki,
Director Sales & Business Development at KTM Technologies, explained the importance and meaningfulness of working together and across industries on the major challenges of our time and on joint solutions. There was a sense of optimism among all participants in the discussion, but there was also agreement that there is still a long way to go.
The 2nd Innovation Talk at the scalaria was naturally not dominated by ready-made solutions. The focus was rather on the realization that a future of modern and sustainable mobility can be designed faster and better if people exchange ideas, communicate at eye level and learn from each other. The aim of the event was to bring aviation and automotive together, and to enable them to get to know each other personally for further steps! Everyone faces the same problems at some point. The strongest momentum at the moment is to develop ideas, start projects, learn from mistakes already identified by others, try out new ways and thus move the big picture forward.
The unanimous feedback from participants and spectators was that the initiative of scalaria and KTM Technologies to invite participants to this summit meeting of future mobility was an enrichment with many exciting insights and concrete ideas. Once again in history, we humans find ourselves at a point where courage, inventiveness and teamwork are more in demand than profit thinking and isolated research work.
